Our History
In response to the growing need for housing for individuals with intellectual disabilities, Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota opened Our Place in 1998, followed by North Place five years later. Our Place and North Place are located 10 miles apart in Duluth, Minnesota, and each provide vibrant community living to eight adults with intellectual disabilities. In 2008, following nearly seven years of hard work by a dedicated group of volunteers, the dream of Friendship Place in Lino Lakes, Minnesota became a reality. Friendship Place, located on a two-acre site provided by Rice Creek Covenant Church, accommodates eight adults with intellectual disabilities.
The Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota family has grown in recent years, with the acquisition of Lakes Place in 2017. Serving higher needs individuals, Lakes Place is located in Lino Lakes, Minnesota, just a few miles from Friendship Place. Shortly thereafter, Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota acquired three more homes in the Blaine area: Grace Place, St. James Place, and the Clubhouse.
